Just a simple post to say that it's Monday, 6:35PM, and I'm not in class and will not be this week, or next week, or the week after that or ever again (until I foolishly decide to get my masters/Ph.D. etc.)! After 17.5 years, my life as a full-time student has finally come to an end.
This also marks the point when I become a "real" teacher. Backed by the full faith and credit of the State of California, at least preliminarily. I sort of wish there was some manner of "white-coating" ceremony. Friends have suggested the novelty tie, but you know, it just doesn't seem the same.
In any case, 20 hours a week of life are restored to me. I feel like standing in front of my school and declaring...
Let the word go forth to friend and foe alike: you're in for it now, kiddies.

But, to be honest, you were always a real teacher.
